The Clash: Should Priti Patel introduce plans to process asylum seekers abroad?

GBNews published this video item, entitled “The Clash: Should Priti Patel introduce plans to process asylum seekers abroad?” – below is their description.

Home Secretary Priti Patel will introduce laws next week to enable the government to send asylum seekers abroad for processing as she opens talks with Denmark over sharing a centre in Rwanda in Central Africa.

Enver Solomon of the Refugee Council calls it a nasty, ill-thought-out policy that is doomed to fail and that Australia’s offshore detention programme shows it doesn’t work.

But Former Border force chief Tony Smith says that while France continues to refuse to return migrants at sea they will continue to risk their lives on this dangerous crossing; and human smugglers will continue to benefit, so we need to look at other options.
