China’s Shenzhen Luohu People’s Hospital has unveiled the first fully automated nasal swab-collecting robot. The robot uses a camera and force-control technology to identify precisely where to inject the swab. It also has deep-learning technology to help improve the robot’s performance. Experts say the idea behind the invention was to replace humans in carrying out high-risk jobs.
