The Australian Defence Force is ‘trashing its reputation daily’

Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “The Australian Defence Force is ‘trashing its reputation daily'” – below is their description.

Sky News host Chris Kenny says the constant slew of apologies and measures being undertaken by the ADF and federal government equates to a daily trashing of its reputation. “We heard from the army top brass again today, with the chief of army Rick Burr confirming the news that broke yesterday, that that the army has served, “administrative action notices” on 13 soldiers, he said. “Effectively they’re being sacked; discharged from the army; although they have 14 days to respond to the notices. “It’s understood most of these are SAS soldiers, and all this comes in the wake of the shocking revelations about what has occurred in Afghanistan – the allegations Australian soldiers unlawfully killed 39 Afghans and 19 should face criminal action.” “What should be happening is investigations as quickly as possible and charges laid if there is evidence of wrongdoing. “Instead, we get the death of army morale and the stripping away of their reputation day by day, as the top brass string this out.” Earlier in the week Liberal MP and former SAS captain Andrew Hastie spoke about the need for the top brass to share some of the blame. Mr Kenny said the ADF needed to root out and bring any wrongdoings to justice but it needed to defend and support all those serving personnel and veterans who were being damaged by the way this was being handled. “You get the sense that the army is too busy trying to please its critics – that will never happen by the way, the very idea of the army is anathema to the woke – it is being too defensive,” he said. “Yes, prosecute murderers, ensure accountability, root out evil, but do it quickly and cleanly, and occasionally get out there and defend all those who have risked their lives for the common good.”
