Members of hill tribes in northern Thailand have spent decades fighting for citizenship. Tourism was one of the few ways that many of them – like the Karen tribe – earned their livelihoods. But that has dried up because of the pandemic. Some are now considering heading back across the border to Myanmar and the homes they fled. Al Jazeera’s Scott Heidler reports from Mae Taeng, Thailand. –
