South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Thai temple lights 350,000 candles forming Buddhist images to ease anxiety amid Covid-19 pandemic” – below is their description.
Some 350,000 candles were lit at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, a Buddhist temple on the outskirts of the Thai capital Bangkok in a gesture meant to help people find inner peace amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The lit candles formed a shape representing the “triple gem” of Buddhism, namely the Buddha, the Dharma or teachings and the Saṃgha or monastic community. The July 24, 2021, event was held to mark the Buddhist festival Asalha Puja Day. In April, the same temple broke a Guinness world record by arranging the largest candle display for Earth Day.
