Texas school shooting: Gov. Abbot, officials provide further update on investigation | LIVE

Global News published this video item, entitled “Texas school shooting: Gov. Abbot, officials provide further update on investigation | LIVE” – below is their description.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, alongside other Uvalde officials, will deliver an update on the investigation and aftermath of the tragic mass shooting at an elementary school that saw 19 students and two faculty members killed.

On Friday, Abbott said that he was “misled” and “absolutely livid” at a news conference in Uvalde after he shared inaccurate information given to him on the Texas school shooting.

This briefing took place at the same time as the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) convention began in Houston, just days after the shooting at Robb Elementary School.

Abbott was supposed to attend the NRA convention, but his office released a press release the evening before the event indicating he would instead be holding a news conference at Uvalde High School. It is reported that he will be sending a pre-recorded video to the summit in place of an in-person appearance.

Law enforcement has been facing criticism over how they handled the shooting.
