Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she has only just become aware that a 15-year-old boy was deported from Brisbane to New Zealand by the Australian Government last week.

“I have asked for a briefing on that. I don’t have full details. But of course, we would have an expectation, regardless of the background, that we do treat minors in a particular way when we’re dealing with deportation. I do want to go back and look at the circumstances under which this deportation happened.”
