South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Tear gas fired during clashes at closed Afghanistan-Pakistan border crossing” – below is their description.
Hundreds of people, mostly Afghans angry about being stranded in the Pakistani border city of Chaman, have clashed with security forces during protests about closure of the checkpoint. Taliban militants who recently took control of Afghanistan shut the crossing on October 5, 2021, a move that suspended cross-border trading and has cost thousands of people their jobs. A Taliban official said the border would remain closed until Islamabad relaxes rules and eases restrictions imposed on Afghan nationals wanting to enter Pakistan.
