One of Britain’s top sprinters, Bianca Williams, has accused the Metropolitan Police of racial profiling after she and her partner, the Portuguese 400m record holder Ricardo dos Santos, were forcibly removed from their car and handcuffed in front of their three-month old son.

The two athletes, who are coached by the 1992 Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie, were detained on Saturday afternoon in Maida Vale, west London.
