    For months Tanzania has been a country in denial after its President, John Magufuli, claimed Covid had been defeated by three days of national prayer.

    On Wednesday, Magufuli died at the age of 61. His deputy said it was heart failure but that hasn’t stopped the rumours that it was the very virus he denied.
