Taliban thanks China for earthquake relief in rare joint press conference

In a rare joint press conference on July 5, 2022, the Taliban thanked China for providing a humanitarian aid package for victims affected by the June 6.1-magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan. China delivered US$8 million worth of supplies, including rice, blankets, tents and beds. Qatar, Iran, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates and India also sent emergency aid to the country.
