Syria’s war: Renewed calls for Aleppo ceasefire

The UN envoy to Syria has welcomed Russia’s plans to push ahead with weekly 48-hour ceasefires in Syria, with conditions attached.

Earlier on Thursday, Staffan de Mistura abruptly suspended the UN’s humanitarian task force to Syria because of the escalating conflict.

The plight of civilians there has been highlighted by moving images of a boy’s rescue after an air strike.

Al Jazeera’s Reza Sayah reports from Gaziantep, on the Turkey-Syria border.
