Sydney is in the grips of a new flood emergency this morning, with conditions set to worsen in the coming hours. More than 30,000 residents have been told to evacuate their homes and there have been over 3000 calls to the SES for help. An East Coast Low, which has triggered serious flooding, is now threatening Sydney. Thousands of residents along the Hawkesbury-Nepean River have been forced to evacuate. The Weather Bureau says rivers will rise higher than in all 3 recent flood emergencies.. and areas that have never been inundated.. are now at risk.
