A jet believed to belong to a drug cartel made an emergency landing on a Mexican jungle road before being set alight.
The plane flew in from South America and was tracked as soon as it entered Mexican airspace. The military intercepted the jet, causing the drug smugglers to make an emergency landing and torch the plane. A truck packed with 850 pounds (390kg) of cocaine (with an estimated street value of $4.9 million) was then found nearby. Unconfirmed reports claim the plane arrived from Maracaio, Venezuela. An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
