New Zealand police officers have killed a male in Auckland, while under surveillance, after he went on what was called an ideological attack in a supermarket.
It was condemned by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern with panicked shoppers told to exit outside but which in a short period, six people were stabbed.
Described as a “lone wolf”, Ms Ardern said the attacker was a “supporter of ISIS” and inspired by extremist ideology.
Of those wounded three are critical and one remains in a serious condition, health officials say.
