RT published this video item, entitled “Supreme Court in Act: The Street Judges Amy Coney Barrett” – below is their description.
As the last day of Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearings took place, protesters blocked a road in Washington, DC in a demonstration against her nomination to the US Supreme Court. Protesters sitting in the road outside the Dirksen Senate Office Building – where Barrett was appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee – were dragged away by police, and 26 of them were arrested. The rally began with hundreds of activists meeting at the Supreme Court. They then marched to the Senate office building. Some women dressed as handmaids from the TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, a reference to Barrett’s membership of the Christian group ‘People of Praise’, which used to call female spiritual leaders handmaids.
