Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Summit of the Americas: Threats of boycott cloud event” – below is their description.

The US is set to host the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles on Monday, where leaders will meet to discuss regional problems.

But while the White House is hoping to bolster engagement with Latin America, the event has been clouded by threats of a boycott.

That is after Washington decided to exclude Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

Al Jazeera’s Latin America Editor @Lucia Newman reports from Santiago, Chile.
