Their paper was published in the National Science Review. It identified frozen food transport as a transmission risk. The outbreak in Beijing started in June, linked to the city’s largest wholesale food market Xinfadi. More than 330 people were infected. The city temporarily suspended the market and tested 11 million people, around half of its population.
