After post-tropical storm Fiona devastated their homes and killed one woman, people in Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador are growing conflicted about staying in the seaside town.
This is despite the community’s harbour having returned to its enchanting appearance dominated by rugged, natural breakwaters – and amid incremental progress in the cleanup as well as the day-to-day life of residents who still have homes.
Ross Lord speaks with some of them about the tough decisions they now face.
