Stockholm+50 Leadership Dialogue 2: Achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic

This high-level discussion addresses the specific actions needed to build back more sustainably from the pandemic and its adverse impacts on people, the planet, and prosperity and to put the world back on track to deliver the SDGs from a common approach that sustainable, inclusive and green recovery should be framed in the context of the triple planetary crisis and inequality.

The panelists and speakers explore how best to transform high impact sectors of the economy and identify recommendations for achieving sustainable and inclusive recovery in line with long-term climate and resilience objectives. Recommendations also focus on the framework conditions for environmentally friendly, sustainable, inclusive, and just development.

The discussions contribute to the outcome of Stockholm+50 by yielding clear and concrete recommendations and messages to achieve a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2nd Leadership Dialogues is presided by the two Co-Chairs, Indonesia and Germany and will include 8 panelists divided in 2 sets. In addition, the event has 2 sections of interventions from government representatives and other stakeholders.

The theme and scope of the Leadership Dialogue is the result of an inclusive and extensive consultation process with hundreds of stakeholders representing civil society, Indigenous Groups, youth, women, private sector amongst others.
