Families of those on board a Malaysia Airlines flight which disappeared two years ago held a vigil to mark the anniversary. Relatives released balloons into the air in honour of the passengers and crew of flight MH370. MPs in the Malaysian parliament stood in silence in the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, in Beijing families of the many missing Chinese passengers demanded answers as they protested outside a Buddhist temple.
