Steel crisis: ‘Nationalisation a fallback’ – John McDonnell – BBC News

The Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell, has suggested that the Government could have a stake in Port Talbot in the future – even if a buyer is found for the steelworks. Speaking to Andrew Marr, Mr McDonnell said ministers need to talk to Tata to get a realistic timetable to find a buyer – but if one cannot be found, the business should be nationalised as a fallback in the short term.
