Sri Lanka signs $1.1bn port deal with China

Sri Lanka has signed a controversial $1.1bn deal, which gives China a majority share in running one of its ports.

Hambantota will likely play a key role in China’s plans to create a 21st century maritime Silk Road, linking East with West.
