A variety of Danxia landform in Guide County of northwest China’s Qinghai Province attracts many visitors across the country, though the number has decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Danxia landform is a particular type of landscape formed from red-colored sandstones and conglomerates. The geological relics here are preserved in the Guide National Geological Park, which covers some 550 square kilometers.
Setting against the blue skies and clear waters of the Yellow River, these natural wonders reflect the evolution of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and also record the development history of the Yellow River. They have greatly boosted local tourism over the past years.
