Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez says he hopes the EU will agree on a common financial response to the pandemic at a summit on Thursday. Spain has proposed the creation of a fund of up to 1.5 trillion euros. The country plans to begin winding down its lockdown measures in late May. The number of new cases has fallen since its peak in March, but the country is still reporting thousands each day. Spain has been under lockdown since March 14.
