7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “South Australians locked out as authorities choose to keep borders open | 7NEWS” – below is their description.
First it was WA and the Northern Territory and in seven hours Queensland will become the third jurisdiction to shut its border to South Australia as more Delta cases emerge. If Chief Public Health Officer Professor Spurrier had her way, our state borders would already be closed to New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT – but an emergency meeting of COVID officials has decided against that, for now. South Australia has recorded five new cases of the Delta strain, but there are fresh fears the Omicron variant could already be in our community. Police are searching for passengers who may have been exposed on a flight. The summer of cricket at Adelaide Oval has been thrown a wrong’un – cricket officials are watching our border situation very closely and there are fears the second Ashes Test is unlikely to go ahead.
