South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “South Africans skeptical about Covid-19 vaccines as AstraZeneca rollout halted” – below is their description.
South African health workers and some residents say they will not take a Covid-19 shot when it’s rolled out, adding they’re concerned about its safety and effectiveness. Health officials said on February 6, 2021 they will halt the roll-out of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine after a study showed it offered only “minimal” protection against mild-to-moderate cases caused by a coronavirus variant first identified in the country. But the World Health Organization backed the AstraZeneca vaccine on February 8 and said it was too early to dismiss the vaccine.
