In tonight’s edition: we take a look at the Covid-19 situation in South Africa. The country is about to expand its vaccination campaign. President Cyril Ramaphosa has also eased restrictions and announced that the government would put in place a standardized vaccination certificate. We also head to Guinea, where Colonel Mamady Doumbouya has been sworn in as the interim president, and to Cameroon, as international NGOs try to fight back against a government crackdown.

The largest cities in population-terms are Douala on the Wouri River, its economic capital and main seaport, Yaoundé, its political capital, and Garoua.
