The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “‘Some of the proposals put to us are pretty outlandish, frankly’: Dominic Raab on Brexit crunch day” – below is their description.
Despite some “outlandish” proposals put to the UK from the EU, forging a Brexit trade deal “ought” to be possible, Dominic Raab has insisted, ahead of today’s talks deadline.
The Foreign Secretary said that if the EU “had followed through on its commitments” the UK would already have signed a free trade deal arrangement with the bloc.
Boris Johnson and European President Commission Ursula von der Leyen are set to speak by telephone later today in order to decide whether to walk away from the negotiations.
It comes as the Prime Minister steps up no deal planning, with billions of help set aside for farmers and factories.
The Government has identified four areas of the economy – sheep farmers, fishermen, car manufacturers and chemical suppliers – that are most at risk of EU tariffs if Britain is catapulted out of the bloc without a trade deal.
