A sod-turning event has been held at the Brighton Memorial Playing Fields to mark the start of the construction of the M6 Stage 1 Motorway Project that will see the creation of a twin 4 kilometre tunnels linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

Premier Dom Perrottet, Minister for Transport and Roads Rob Stokes, Attorney General and Member for Cronulla Mark Speakman, Member for Miranda Ms Eleni Petinos, Member for Oatley Mark Coure and the Member for Heathcote Lee Evans participated in the event today.
