Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “‘Sigh of relief’: Immigration advocates welcome Biden proposal” – below is their description.
Apart from steps to tackle the pandemic, one of the flurry of executive actions on the first day of Joe Biden’s presidency was to stop the construction of Trump’s wall along the Mexican border.
President Biden does have a plan for an eight-year path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million people who have not got legal status in the United States.
But those south of the border are hoping that he will do more to help asylum seekers and undocumented migrants.
Al Jazeera’s John Holman reports from Mexico City.
