Should oil and gas exploration be scrapped by 2050?

Sky News published this video item, entitled “Should oil and gas exploration be scrapped by 2050?” – below is their description.

One of the EU’s biggest oil and gas producers, Denmark, plans to end all new oil and gas exploration by 2050.

This has also been the focus of Norway’s recent election.

But is there a role for fossil fuels beyond 2050?

Fatima Ibrahim, Co-Founder of Green New Deal UK, says “there needs to be no role for oil and gas beyond 2050”.

Bob Ward, from the Grantham Research Institute, adds that it’s “unfortunate” the UK has not committed to stopping exploration.
