The Tories may have branded Ed Miliband’s pledge to freeze energy prices Marxist and dangerous ahead of the last election, but Theresa May has promised a price cap of her own.
The Conservatives insist their policy is crucially different from Mr Miliband’s but, wherever it’s come from, it hasn’t gone down well with most of the industry.
But Ian King spoke to the boss of one energy supplier – OVO – who backs the price cap.
While James Kirkup, director of the Social Market Foundation, opposes it.
