South Granville: Police are investigating a shooting that’s ended with innocent families in the path of stray bullets on Blaxcell Street.
CCTV last night captured a ute laying in wait for their target, the shooter then hung-out of the window and unleashed a volley of shots as a second 4WD past. Up to 8 shots were fired. Police found bullets and casings in the street.
Police raced to the area and they spotted a rental vehicle suspiciously speeding away. The police helicopter followed it to Pemulwuy where the driver was arrested, and $30,000 cash found. Two other men were also detained, their hands bagged to be tested for gunshot residue. But later release without charge.
Police saying while there are links to warring crime families they still are yet to recover the shooter’s vehicle or link the men arrested to the shooting itself.
