Measures to protect the most vulnerable people in England shielding from coronavirus are set to be relaxed from the end of July.
There are currently just over 2 million people who have been advised to not leave their homes during lockdown because of a health condition. Until recently they were also unable to see family and friends living elsewhere.
The latest official figure is that 15 deaths linked to coronavirus were recorded in the last 24-hour period, although the figure is always significantly lower after the weekend.
The prime minister is also expected to announce that the 2 metre social distancing rule in England is to be reduced to 1 metre in order to boost economic activity. It will be accompanied by additional safety guidelines and is especially aimed at helping the hospitality industry.
Ministers have said that they will tighten the policy again if there are signs of another peak in the pandemic.
The changes would bring England in line with much of Europe but the rule is still under review in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
