Naseema Ben Shamdar lost seven members of her family who were killed as they made their way across a jam-packed suspension bridge that collapsed in India on October 30, 2022. They were among at least 135 people who died when cables holding up the span gave way, plunging pedestrians into the deep, wide waters of the Machchu river at Morbi in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
