Washington Post published this video item, entitled “Senate holds hearing on security breaches during Capitol riot – 2/23 (FULL LIVE STREAM)” – below is their description.
The Senate committees on rules and homeland security will hold a joint hearing on the failures that led to the breach of the Capitol by pro-Trump rioters. Witnesses include:
– Acting Chief of Police Robert J. Contee
– Former chief of Capitol police Steven Sund
– Former Senate sergeant-at-arms Michael C. Stenger
– Former House sergeant-at-arms Paul D. Irving
Congressional leaders are also considering draft legislation for a bipartisan commission that would investigate the Jan. 6 attack. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called for the commission to be similar to the body that studied the 9/11 attacks for 15 months before issuing a sweeping 585-page report.
The Post’s Libby Casey will anchor live coverage and be joined by reporters Matea Gold, Rhonda Colvin, Nicole Ellis and Hannah Jewell. Read more: https://wapo.st/3ke7m1A. Subscribe to The Washington Post on YouTube: https://wapo.st/2QOdcqK
