After U.S. Vice President Mike Pence refused to invoke the 25th Amendment, President Donald Trump was impeached again this Wednesday by the U.S. House of Representative. Trump is the first U.S. President to be impeached twice after being charged with incitement of insurrection. Ten Republicans joined Democrats in a 232 to 197 bipartisan vote to impeach Trump. In a video statement after his impeachment, the U.S. president appealed to his supporters to refrain from violence or disruption during the transition of power. So what’s next after the U.S. House impeachment vote? Could an impeachment hearing at the Senate weigh down President-elect Joe Biden’s first days in office?
