CNN’s SE Cupp breaks down the latest developments in President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
In this video news item, published on the CNN YouTube channel, SE Cupp tells how nearly one month after the House voted to impeach US President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is to send the Impeachment articles to the senate next week, to begin the trial in the Senate.
Republican “sources” told CNN that this meant Trump could be acquitted before his 4 February State of the Union Address – which this outlet argued was something they had been told by “sources” that Pelosi had been trying to avoid [by delaying the start of the process].
Cupp says the impeachment is “meant to be a disciplinary act…” “meant to constrain a President, at the very least, to keep him from doing more bad things. Well there’s been little evidence so far that Trump has felt chastened at all by his own impeachment.”
“In fact” she continues “he might even have felt emboldened.”
