Prime Minister Scott Morrison is touring Queensland, visiting Brisbane today after a strong reaction to last week’s Federal Budget.

The latest Newspoll found widespread support for the Government’s big-spending policies, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Labor’s slim 51-49 two-party-preferred lead.

“The Budget is a plan for Australia’s recovery, and recovery is all about self-sufficiency. If there’s one thing that I think has been reinforced over the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s just so important that we have self-sufficiency.” – Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
