Former prime minister Scott Morrison fronted the cameras today in a new attempt to reframe his decision to secretly appoint himself to five powerful ministerial portfolios within his own cabinet.

There are questions too about the role of the Governor-General who signed off on the appointments. He says he had no reason to think they wouldn’t be made public. Here’s chief political correspondent Laura Tingle.
