Saskatchewan RCMP confirmed Wednesday that they have captured Myles Sanderson, a suspect in one of the worst mass killings in Canadian history, after an intense four-day search that captured national and international attention.

Sanderson, who is facing multiple charges related to a series of stabbings on Sunday that killed 10 people, was apprehended around 3:30 p.m. local time near Rosthern, a town north of Saskatoon and more than 100 kilometres southwest of James Smith Cree Nation, where many of the attacks took place.

Multiple law enforcement sources tell Global News police used a PIT maneuver, ramming Sanderson’s vehicle on one side and causing it to spin out off the highway. Sanderson surrendered to officers upon being surrounded.
