Sajid Javid mocked by the Vice Chair of Royal College of GPs over no-show

Daily Mail published this video item, entitled “Sajid Javid mocked by the Vice Chair of Royal College of GPs over no-show” – below is their description.

Mr Javid last night unveiled plans to name and shame doctors that fail to deliver enough face-to-face appointments. But amid anger he pulled the plug on plans to attend a GP conference today. Dr Michael Mulholland, the vice chairman for professional development at the colege, announced the change in the schedule to a laughing conference hall. Unfortunately we have one change to the programme. The Secretary of State for Health for England is unable to join us today either in person or by video link. Sajid Javid’s nine-point plan, published last night, will also see family doctors offered an extra £250million to improve their services and fight through the backlog. The Health Secretary (left) defended the plans, in a round of interviews this morning. Official data shows the number of face-to-face appointments has dropped since the pandemic began (top right), with some surgeries struggling to return to face-to-face appointments.
