Sajid Javid: Jamaican offenders deportation flight ‘absolutely right’ to go ahead

Sajid Javid has defended the government’s decision to continue with the deportation of dozens of offenders to Jamaica.

This comes after a Court of Appeal judge had ordered the Home Office not to carry out a planned deportation amid concerns mobile phone outages had prevented detainees from having access to legal advice.

However, the Chancellor did confirm that anyone affected by the court judgement was not on the flight.
