South Australia has today become the first jurisdiction to legislate a ban on the use of spithoods on prisoners with the passage of ‘Fella’s Bill’.
It’s named to honour the life of Wayne Fella Morrison, a Wiradjuri Kokatha and Wirangu man, who died while on remand.
His family has been campaigning tirelessly to get spithoods banned in SA and nationwide. Stephanie Boltje spoke to his sibling, Latoya Rule.
