South Korea is pushing for its so-called mudflats to be recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
They have often been overlooked by many, but there has been increasing appreciation for their environmental value.
South Korea’s southwest coastline is considered to have some of the best tidal mudflats in the world.
Al Jazeera’s Rob McBride went to the region and had this report from Shinan County, South Korea.
