Global News published this video item, entitled “Russia says its military retreats in Ukraine don’t affect annexation of regions” – below is their description.
Russia said Wednesday that recent military retreats in some regions of Ukraine would have no impact on its plans to annex four regions in the eastern European country, with its lower house of parliament saying President Vladimir Putin had signed four laws that would push forward with the annexation.
It comes as Ukraine released a video showing its servicemen moving through the town of Lyman in the Donetsk region, one of the four Russia has claimed as its own. Russia’s military, however, has said they are holding its ground in the Kherson region, as its mobilization efforts continue.
Putin on Wednesday also said he had signed a decree making “corrections” to the partial mobilization that he announced Sept. 21, advising teachers in televised comments that additional categories of students, such as those enrolled at accredited private universities, would have conscription deferred.
