Russian attacks intensified on the frontlines of eastern Ukraine on Saturday, just 24 hours after the fall of Mariupol.
It is possible that some of the troops fighting the last defenders of the port city have already been redeployed, adding badly needed manpower to Russia’s stalled advance.
It’s causing a new wave of civilians to flee for safety.
Almost half a million refugees have already crossed into Moldova, which the foreign secretary now says needs its own military aid package to keep the Russians at bay.
