Russia pleads with ‘scared’ England fans over World Cup hooliganism

The 2018 World Cup kicks off in Moscow next summer – and the safety of fans is already a major concern.

There were violent clashes between England and Russia supporters in Marseille, at the European Championships in 2016, and nobody wants to see a repeat.

A Russian politician has suggested legalising football hooliganism and turning it into a sport, but that’s not really the message the government wants to communicate.
