Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Russia: Navalny allies gather for Valentine’s Day vigils” – below is their description.
Supporters of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny have ignored police warnings and held small vigils across the country.
They are using Valentines Day to bring attention to his detention after he arrived back from Germany in January, following his recovery from what many Western governments believe was poisoning with a nerve agent.
Navalny’s allies have suspended their major street protests until spring after thousands were arrested in the past few weeks.
Al Jazeera’s Nadim Baba reports.
